My client is looking for a supplier quality/development engineer to work for aleading developer of mission and safety critical equipment in the defence and aerospace industry.

We solve our customers' problems, providing engineering solutions to safety and mission critical challenges in the air and on the ground. We are seeking a results-driven Supplier Development Specialist who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes initiative to ensure the quality and reliability of our supplied components. The SUPPLIER DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST will proactively collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement, swiftly resolve quality/delivery issues, and bolster supplier performance. This critical role demands a self-starter capable of producing tangible results, maintaining Ultra PCSs high standards for product quality, safety, and efficiency.

Perform rigorous AS9100 audits and assessments of supplier processes, products, and quality management systems to ensure compliance and reliability.

Lead decisive root cause analysis for quality issues, swiftly implementing corrective and preventive measures with suppliers to deliver measurable improvements. Develop and enforce robust quality control plans, inspection procedures, and process controls, taking initiative to optimise performance.

Work with suppliers to analyse their processes, identify non-value add activities and remove them in order to improve On Time In Full (OTIF) delivery performance.

Champion supplier development programs to improve overall supplier capability, efficiency, and risk mitigation strategies. Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Six Sigma, Lean, and Kaizen methodologies, delivering tangible results in a time-sensitive environment.

Monitor supplier performance metrics (e.g., PPM, on-time delivery) and proactively address deviations to maintain operational excellence.
