An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Shop Floor Manager to join a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment on an inital 6 month contract basis. This role is crucial in driving operational performance, leading a production team, and ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of output while maintaining the highest standards in safety, quality, and cost-efficiency.

Rate: to be discussed on experience, hourly rate insite IR35

Early Shift:

Monday - Thursday: 6:00am - 14:15
Friday: 6:00am - 12:00Key Responsibilities:

Lead, motivate, and develop a team of production staff to meet daily, weekly, and monthly targets

Ensure safety, environmental, and quality standards are maintained and improved

Monitor and drive On Time Start (OTS) and On Time Finish (OTF) metrics, reducing dwell time and increasing throughput

Analyse workloads and resource capacity to align with production plans

Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure accurate job clocking and cost bookings

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives

Communicate effectively across all levels, acting as the main point of contact for operational updates

Ensure staff training, qualifications, and certifications are kept current and compliant

Contribute to cost management by identifying and eliminating inefficiencies

About You:

Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a manufacturing or production environment

Experience in regulated industries (e.g. aerospace, automotive, or similar)

Strong knowledge of manufacturing management principles including inventory control and cost systems

Confident communicator with strong leadership and interpersonal skills

Proficient in MS Office tools, especially Excel and reporting systems

Analytical thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement

Able to foster a high-performance culture and promote team engagement
