The basics:

Job Titles: Quality Manager / Head of Quality

Salary: Up to £72000

Hours: Monday to Thursday - 7:30am-4:30pm and Fridays 7:30am-2pm

Contracted hours: 40 per week

Holidays and Benefits: 33 days holiday, Xmas shut down, 7.5% pension, x4 salary death in service.

Overview:

Working within modern purpose-built manufacturing facilities the quality manager will be working for a precision engineering business that manufacture components and fabrications for the aerospace, nuclear and defence industry.

Brief overview of duties:

  • To maintain approvals and certifications including AS9100, ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, NADCAP (NDT), R-R SABRE, R-R GS3001.

  • Ensure a strong internal audit schedule is in place and adhered to. Make sure audits are conducted in line with best practices and any non-conformance is closed out in a timely manner.

  • Ensure all external audits are organised and conducted effectively.

  • Manage the quality team members

  • Ensure the Quality Management System is kept under continuous review and that all opportunities for improvement are reviewed and implemented where required.

  • Ensure robust quality controls are implemented and followed at all points during the manufacturing process and that they are aligned to our customer's and regulatory requirements

  • Ensure accurate recording and resolution of any customer complaints as they arise.

  • Employ robust quality tools to investigate, correct and prevent non-conformance.

    The ideal candidate / Quality Manager may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:

  • Experience with data collection and analysis

  • A strong background at implementing quality systems within an precision engineering environment - aerospace/machining/fabrication or similar

  • Experienced in Lean/problem solving techniques (8D), Kaizen.

  • Knowledge of 6 Sigma process beneficial

  • Competent/capable of driving quality throughout a large business and manufacturer

    Commutable from: Heanor, Ripley, Alfreton, Hucknall and Surrounding areas.
