Due to continued growth, my client, a leading Aerospace Manufacturing business based near Burnley are looking to recruit a Quality Engineer to join their existing Quality team on a permanent basis.

As part of the Quality Engineering Team, candidates will be required to work with customers, supplier and internal staff to investigate and address NCR's raised.

Interested candidates must be Time Served in a relevant discipline with a demonstrable background within Quality Engineering with a broad understanding of manufacturing processes including Machining, Welding and Assembly.

Good understanding of ISO 9001 and AS9100 is a must for this role.

This position is based on days and available for an immediate start.

Hours - Mon - Fri 37 hours

Role Description

Provide hands on problem solving and through investigation expertise.

  • Offer technical knowledge and advice to support manufacturing.

  • Foster a culture of Right First Time (RFT) by promoting a quality mindset and driving initiatives for process optimisation.

  • Adopt data driven decision making to improve processes and identify opportunities for future improvement.

  • Supporting daily business activities to resolve quality issues.

  • Identification and creation of quality improvement projects.

  • Provide and participate in training/development activities related to production operations.

  • Evaluate NCRs to identify any apparent trends and providing timely reports.

  • Attend customer calls to discuss technical and quality topics.

  • Analyse inspection reports to ensure products are delivered to the customer confirming to requirements.

  • Perform internal Quality Management System (QMS) Audits and implement any corrective actions to maintain the

  • QMS System to support the business needs.

  • Creation of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR’s) and validation / PPAP packages to obtain customer approval during NPI projects.

  • Host and accommodate external third party and customer audits.

  • Act as focal point for non-conformance affecting the customers deliveries.

  • Creation & management of customer concessions.

  • Carry out Measurement System Analysis and ensure measurement processes are capable and repeatable.

  • Support the Final View department with the despatch of product where required.

    Skills & Attributes

  • Time served in a relevant engineering discipline

  • Experience as a Quality Engineer within an Engineering/ Manufacturing environment.

  • Understanding on ISO 9001/ AS9100 standards

  • Broad knowledge of manufacturing processes including Machining, Fabrication and Assembly

  • Experienced in creation of FAIR’s and PPAPs.
