KEY ACCOUNT MANAGER
 
HOME BASED UK WITH OCCASSIONAL/MONTLHY TRAVEL TO DUNDEE SITE AND EUROPEAN CUSTOMER TRAVEL
 
SALARY AND PACKAGE £60-80,000 BASE PLUS GENEROUS OTE AND COMPANY CAR
 
Grw Talent’s client has a rich history making textiles in Scotland since the late 1800s. Today, they are a vibrant fast growing international industrial and technical textiles company with production bases in Scotland, USA and China. The company and partners are part of a huge investment plan to consolidate two Scottish sites into one new super facility in Dundee. This will pave the way to grow from over 100 heads in Scotland to c600 and to push for turnover towards £500m.
 
To help facilitate this growth the business is looking to recruit one/two Key Account Managers (KAM). You will be based from home in the UK, with monthly travel to site in Dundee and European travel for circa 50% of your time. At a strategic and trusted partener level, you will work with global customers across the automotive, aerospace, defence, medical and renewable engineering sectors.
 
Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Director, the Key Account Manager will have a rough 80-20% split between supporting and growing wallet share with existing customers and gaining net new logos. The KAM will need to gain a deep and forensic understanding of internal capabilities and the customer’s needs/wants and longer-term growth strategies. The KAM will need to have a solid appreciation of macro level market dynamics and be able to identify growth trends and present opportunities to existing and new clients. Key responsibilities will include:

Develop strategic customer partnerships with key customers/build strategic joint Business Plans
Drive customer agenda based on ‘Value Creation’; joint Innovation and technology programs; supply-chain performance; technical support and design and sustainability
Negotiate and steer the international customer business and cooperate actively with other global sales and business colleagues to develop and build long-term customer partnerships
Plan, develop, and steer the key account business from negotiating pricing and terms, contracting, to steering the in-time shipment, invoicing and payments
Work with Sales Director to develop customer relations from transactional into long-term partnerships to activate the full potential of the group
Support members of the KAM-team in tactical and strategic topics with the customers, also by common visits and negotiations
Cooperation and common meetings with stakeholders of Sales, Marketing, R&D, Business Planning, Customer Service and Supply Planning
Analysing and reporting the business development on customer, sector, and country level. Educated to degree calibre in a business or technical discipline, you are a proven strategic level Sales, Business Development or Key Account professional. You are equally comfortable supporting and growing wallet share in current clients and acquiring new logos. The successful candidate comes from a customer led innovative products B2B sales background; used to building strategic partnerships and delivering reciprocal value though sharing ideas, building long term NPI/NPD programmes, sharing engineers, R+D, supply chain savings etc. We would be particularly keen to hear from candidates who can show personal growth and experience gained selling from idea/concept to production into defence, automotive, aerospace, medical and renewable companies.
 
On a personal level, you are career driven, ambitious, curious, hungry to grow and motivated to advance your career as this business scales. You are excited and confident to grow your territory in a supportive environment and push the boundaries of revenue generation in existing and net new logos. Candidates should expect up to 50% of their time in the field / visiting clients.
