Internal Sales Engineer / Technical Account Manager

They now seek an Internal Sales Engineer / Technical Account Manager to maintain existing UK customer relationships and follow up on incoming leads and enquiries (15-20 per week).

(This role does not require any cold calling)

    About The Role

    Based at my client's office, with daily support from a team of technical and commercial industry experts, you will be responsible for:

  • Liaising with academic customers (Universities) but also industrial companies across the UK.

  • Working on customer projects with a typical gestation period from 1 to 3 months.

  • Managing a portfolio of smaller customers (order values £1K-£10K) and also handling and processing incoming inquiries from around 15-20 new leads per week.

  • Qualifying incoming enquiries to establish if the business can offer a suitable solution.

  • Passing larger OEM projects to the external sales team.

  • Forging solid relationships with key decision-makers including Professors, Engineering Managers, Project Engineers, and Design Engineers.

  • Understanding customer project needs and providing guidance and input on the best-proposed solution.

  • Handling both technical and commercial inquiries from your customer base.

  • Maintaining, updating, and administering the CRM database.

    System and product training will be provided.

    About You

    You will ideally possess experience working in an Engineering or Scientific company

    A technical education within an Engineering or Scientific discipline would be highly beneficial, but not essential.

    Alongside your academic flair, you must possess great communication skills and enjoy speaking with clients in both academia and industry.

    Previous experience in customer interaction roles such as sales, account management, product specialist, and applications engineering would be highly advantageous but not essential should somebody demonstrate the aptitude to learn. The salary offered will reflect the experience you bring to the role.

  • Team player who enjoys engaging with customers.

  • Ability to fit into an environment where collaboration and idea-sharing are encouraged.

  • Methodical, structured and process driven.

  • Good attention to detail.
