Estimator | Christchurch | £38,000 | Fixed-Term Contract

Are you an analytically minded engineer with a strong grasp of manufacturing processes and costing? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, precision-driven environment where accuracy, collaboration and technical insight are key?

As an Estimator, you’ll play a critical role in supporting the commercial function of a specialist engineering business, breaking down customer enquiries to provide detailed and accurate quotations.

This is a fixed-term contract role with a company recognised for its engineering excellence and heritage in precision manufacturing. Based at their Christchurch facility, you’ll be part of a close-knit team in a well-established, forward-thinking business.

As an Estimator, you’ll benefit from:

As an Estimator, your responsibilities will include:

Breaking down customer enquiries into labour, material, and tooling costs
Preparing quotations for complex components and assemblies
Identifying key manufacturing processes and flagging capability or capacity issues
Liaising with the Purchasing team to obtain up-to-date material and AGS pricing
Reviewing BOMs and drawings to quote full assemblies accurately
As an Estimator, your skills and experience will include:

Previous experience in an engineering or estimating role, ideally within aerospace or precision manufacturing
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with CAD software
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including sheet metal, machined, or composite parts
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and process specifications
Familiarity with treatments and finishes such as anodising, painting, and heat treatments
Organised, self-motivated, and confident communicating across departments
