Senior Antenna Design Engineer (GPS applications)

Role Overview:

The client designs and builds an array of Antenna systems for Communication, Navigation and Identification for use in aerospace environments.

They are looking for an Antenna Design Engineer to deliver full development lifecycle from bid support, requirements capture, system level design, concept development, simulation, prototyping, optimisation, verification and products support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and test innovative antenna and RF products

  • Conduct electromagnetic simulations and analysis to optimise antenna performance

  • Maintain knowledge on emerging technologies and incorporate relevant innovations into product designs

  • Requirements analysis

  • Generate documentation to support product development and verification

  • Support the qualification and review of designs to requirements

  • Support to the development of Automated Test Equipment (ATE)

  • Responsible to deliver technical projects within budget and schedule

  • Lead or support bid activities, including requirements assessment, concept design and tasks estimation

  • Support legacy products

    Qualifications and Experience:

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant Engineering field

  • Experience in the aerospace and defence industry

  • Strong theoretical and practical experience in Antenna and RF design

  • Strong understanding of antenna theory, transmission line theory and RF principles

  • Active / passive RF and Microwave circuit design experience desirable

  • Familiar with one or more electromagnetic solvers (CST, FEKO, HFSS)

  • Familiar with RF test and measurement equipment such as Vector Network Analysers and Spectrum Analysers

  • Use of antenna test ranges / anechoic chambers desirable

  • Design for Excellence
