The External Supply ChainManufacturing Engineers are technically responsible for themanufacture of a portfolio of parts associated within the externalsupply chain. Covering all elements of the manufacturing productlife cycle, from new product introduction and supportingimprovement programmes, you will have the opportunity to work withand influence external suppliers in the delivery of nuclearproducts. What you will be doing: Within thisexciting opportunity you will get a chance to have an input intothe development of manufacturing processes and/or methods ofmanufacture and the continuous improvement of these areas. Theproduct and materials are somewhat novel when comparing to othervessel fabrications, pumps, valves and assemblies for a Pressurisedcircuit. The optimal candidate would: - You will assess thecapability of manufacturing suppliers and support source selectionand approval in the supply chain. - You will govern the executionof Manufacturing Engineering activities in the External SupplyChain to assure the development and continuous improvement ofmanufacturing processes and/or methods of manufacture which meetbusiness and customer requirements for safety, quality, cost,delivery rate and lead-time (SQCD). - Fundamental knowledge ofDFMEA / PFMEA to influence Product definition / final formmanufacture. - You will act as the primary ManufacturingEngineering representative within a cross-functional team for theirsuppliers. - You will use natural and learned negotiation/coachingskills and business acumen to build customer & supplierrelationships at all levels.
