We have an exciting opportunity to join the Lockheed Martin team in Westbury, Wiltshire as a Systems Integration & Test Engineer.

You will work within the project Engineering Team on the development ground based vehicle synthetic training systems & simulators.

Reporting to the Engineering Team Lead, you will lead on all aspects of system level integration and test activities throughout the integration and test life cycle.

Working as part of a team you will interface with team members from both the internal engineering organisation and from customers or industry partners.

You will experience a wide range of engineering activities including:

  • Producing programme Test plans, include those suitable for providing oversight to suppliers.
  • Ensuring that Test specifications are developed in line with system requirements and to the standards required by engineering processes.
  • Creating and delivering Test documentation ready for test readiness reviews (TRR).
  • Leading Test events including System Integration (SIT) and Factory Acceptance (FAT).
  • Visiting customer sites to conduct site acceptance tests and uplifts to training devices.
  • Investigating customer help desk requests to trouble shoot technical problems.
  • Investigation of complex system level faults found through test events.
  • Updating system level documentation to reflect changes in design and configuration of training devices.
  • Monitoring and progressing bug fix development & embodiment.
  • Produce, collect and reporting appropriate metrics for progress reporting.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients across all levels of the organisation both internally and externally with the customer.
  • Any additional programme related tasks assigned that are within area of expertise, competence and skill set.

Skills required :

  • Demonstrable test experience across the full test lifecycle with a track record of delivery in complex, challenging, cutting edge test environments.
  • Strong communication skills and experience in customer facing situations.
  • Ability to write in a clear and concise manner to deliver documents such Program Test Plans.
  • Positive attitude, and willingness to get involved with tasks across the Test Engineering lifecycle.
  • The ability to manage tasks and priorities to ensure that assigned workload is delivered within cost and schedule constraints.
  • Knowledge of other engineering disciplines and experience of interacting with (e.g. Hardware and Software teams).
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences on sometimes complex concepts.
  • Desired skills, qualifications and experience:
  • Experience working on design, development & test of Synthetic Training Systems.
  • Exposure to Model Based Testing concepts and tools (SysML, Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect).
  • Experience of working within MoD programme frameworks.
  • ISTQB Accreditation.
