Our client is looking for an experienced passionate Project Manager to join their existing highly skilled multidisciplinary team to lead on a variety of world leading space projects.
 
Responsibilities

Manage projects across all project aspects from conception through to delivery including space & ground segments, launch preparation and in-orbit commissioning.
Responsible for all project aspects including schedules, deliverables, management plans, risk management, technical maturity gates and earned value management.
Strong leadership and day to day management of the core project team ensuring projects are progressing in line with project plans and timelines.
Managing and rolling out appropriate work packages in conjunction with Engineering Leaders for resource management.
Customer and internal interaction with all stakeholders, including Engineering, Finance. Commercial and Leadership teams.
Overseeing major project reviews including objective management, inputs, outputs and ensuring successful outcomes in line with financial limitations.
Overseeing risk management to ensure all are identified, captured and mitigated across the project work package structure.
Overseeing and controlling the project finances including weighted risk exposure, cost to complete, profit and to ensure project in completed within the agreed budget.
Supporting on bids providing solutions to the Bid Manager, covering deliverables, schedule, costs and risks.Experience, Knowledge & Skills

Proven Project Management experience ideally in a Space, Satellite, Aerospace or Engineering setting.
Customer facing experience necessary.
Contract implementations experience important.
Experience with work package systems and matrix management would be preferable.
Engineering or Technical degree background would be preferred.
Strong multidisciplinary team and people management skills are necessary with the ability to communicate with people across all levels.
Excellent Inter-personal and communication skills, able to influence, persuade and negotiate whilst being flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
Needs to be a result oriented, proactive, individual with a high degree of organisation, self-motivation and initiative.
Needs to be able to understand and grasp technical concepts from engineering teams and understand the impact these will have on wider project areas including time to complete and financial restraints.
Ability to autonomously deliver under pressure and tight timescales.
Understanding of commercial terms, contracts and product assurance plans and translate those into impacts on project.
Good knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Project).What’s in it for you?
