Due to our continued growth and investment, we are looking to add to our IT team with an experienced Senior IT Support Technician.

Main Purpose of the Role

Working as part of our IT team on a range continuous improvement projects across site that require IT advice and support. The job holder will be responsible for the IT support of personnel using remote access and face to face, as well as setting up and maintaining IT access for all users.

Main duties include

  • Troubleshoot Hardware and Software: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals, as well as common software applications

  • User Account Management: Assist with user account creation, password resets, and access permissions in Active Directory and other systems.

  • Incident Logging and Tracking: Accurately record, track, and update all support tickets in the IT service management system, following ITIL best practices.

  • Network Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues, including Wi-Fi and VPN problems.

  • Maintain IT Assets: Assist in the inventory and tracking of hardware and software assets.

  • Provide Onsite and Remote Support: Deliver both in-person and remote support to users, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

  • User Training and Documentation: Provide basic training and create user-friendly documentation to help end-users solve common problems independently.

  • Server Configuration: Experience with Windows Server (Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell)

  • Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, Firewall management & security protocols

  • Cloud Technologies: Microsoft 365 Administration Experience

  • Virtualization Technologies: VMware, Hyper-V · Database management: SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL

  • Security: Patch management, endpoint security, backup & disaster recovery

    Work hours: 37 hours per week

    Location: Sheffield, UK

    Job type: Permanent, Full-time (37 Hours)

    Salary: £33,000 - £35,000 per annum
