Senior Electrical Design Engineer - Our client is at the forefront of innovative Marine engineering, specialising in the design, optimisation, and supply of decarbonisation solutions for the maritime industry. Born from the America’s Cup, they utilise that cutting edge, fast paced development expertise to create world leading products that redefine the industry.
With their expertise in wing propulsion, foiling and flight control systems, they are leading the sustainability revolution within the maritime and shipping industry. From reducing fuel consumption – measured in tonnes per day – on ocean going ships through their sail technology and advanced efficiency optimisation methods, to enabling the growth of marine electrification with the implementation of their foiling and FOSS solutions.
They are looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join the team and contribute to this pioneering work. You will be instrumental to the design of their current and exciting future projects, working alongside their industry leading experts to take ownership of marine electrical solutions, from concept through to production.
Senior Electrical Design Engineer Role:

  • Design and implementation of large marine electrical installations, focusing on our innovative sail technology product.
  • Work with vessel manufacturers to provide installation guidance and vessel specific system variants.
  • Work with ATEX rated installations to ensure compliance and safety in hazardous environments.
  • Utilize professional drawing package EPlan.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to integrate electrical systems into our cutting-edge marine technology solutions.
  • Provide guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle, from initial concept to final implementation, ensuring technical excellence throughout.
    Senior Electrical Design Engineer Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in marine or industrial control electrical installations, demonstrating a competence with electrical installations and panel design.
  • Understanding of the complexities and challenges in the marine sector.
  • Experience in ATEX/IEC-Ex rated installations is desired
  • Proficiency with professional drawing package EPlan is desired. Training can be provided if required.
  • Knowledge of marine industry, powertrain electrification is an advantage.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to cross-functional team members.
