Sales Manager (Aerospace & Manufacturing)

Are you an experienced and driven Sales Manager with a strong background in aerospace and manufacturing? Do you have a passion for business development and the ability to work collaboratively with sales teams, bid teams, and internal stakeholders? If so, this role could be a perfect fit for you!

Role Overview: As a Technical Sales Manager, you will play a key role in the business development process, working closely with the Sales Director, Bid Team, and internal sales teams. Your focus will be on a combination of new business development (40%) and growing existing accounts (60%). This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the collective sales efforts within the aerospace industry, with a strong emphasis on research-based sales.

Responsibilities:

Support the execution of the company’s growth strategy, identifying key market segments and customers within aerospace and manufacturing.

Develop market capture plans and target profitable opportunities within both existing and new customer bases in the UK and Europe.

Manage RFQs, ensuring timely submissions and support for the Bid Management team to deliver quality responses.

Provide regular activity reports to keep stakeholders informed of sales activities and progress against goals.

Offer feedback on market trends, competitors, and customer intelligence to the wider team.

Take ownership of key accounts and work with the Sales and Commercial team to grow them.

Lead and support major bids and projects until they are handed over to the NPI team.

Attend customer visits and support marketing events and exhibitions such as the Farnborough/Paris Airshow.

Skills & Experience:

A minimum of 2 years of experience in engineering sales, specifically within aerospace and manufacturing.

Proven track record of successful business development in aerospace sectors (commercial and military OEMs, and tier suppliers).

Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Familiarity with KPIs and a solid understanding of commercial and technical aspects of the aerospace and manufacturing industries.

Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems (SAP experience a plus).

Analytical mindset with knowledge of basic engineering concepts and manufacturing processes.

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and travel internationally as required.
