Before you even consider our job, what do you want to achieve in General Practice?

Do you want to be part of something that cherishes the community it supports?

Do you want the opportunity to engage with and influence the future health of a multicultural community?

Do you have ideas and want to work in an innovative, vibrant and ambitious practice?

Do you want to work a boundaried day with no on-call and flexible shifts?

If so, keep reading.

We merged in 2020 and adopted the best bits from both Practices: our continuity of care for patients with the statistically significant health benefits that this offers being one highlight.

We are a Deep End practice keen to recognise and react to the inequalities in healthcare that our patients may experience. Our continuity of care programme, shown on the latest BNSSG Good News stories, and the ‘open the doors’ project are both ways in which we are changing the way we care for patients. This runs hand in hand with a passion for championing healthy lifestyles, for staff and patients, and planetary health. We have achieved the RCGP Active Practice Charter and the Green Impact for Health Gold award.

We are engaged with our PCN and ICB, and have a full complement of ARRS roles, including 2 dietitians, a physiotherapist, two pharmacists, 2 pharmacy technicians, and a patient advocate.

Training is a vital part of who we are with four trainers and multiple Medical Student teachers with three medical schools referring students to us: Bristol, Imperial, and UCL.

The reduction in Face-to-face contact during Covid alerted us to the joy and satisfaction we get from seeing our patients, and communication skills are obviously key to this GP role.

We have supported doctors with specialist clinics, including: the Bristol community Rose clinic for women who have experienced FGM; dermoscopy training and joint injection clinics.

Our practices open days for Diabetes, Cardiovascular disease, Child Health, Prostate Cancer, and respiratory disease have been a huge hit with patients and clinicians: a mass un-booked appointment session with food and fun.

What to expect from us?

A supportive team with regular mentoring, dependent on need or experience.

Annual in-house appraisal to assess current aspirations and progress.

Six weeks annual leave and one week’s study leave pro rata.

Daily coffee to chat with the clinical team and monthly whole practice meetings to connect with the wider team.

Our summary:

24 daily contacts day (patients choose F2F or telephone but majority F2F) this includes 1 home visit.

15-minute appointments.

No telephone triage/No Duty doctor.

Each patient has a named GP and is encouraged to see this GP.

Medicine reconciliation managed by the pharmacy team.

Majority of documents managed by the admin team.

Regular in-house clinical meetings: weekly, monthly, and 6 weekly to cover your appraisal educational needs.

Maximum salary £11,000 per session depending on responsibilities and experience.

Finally, if you like working with us, we are open to partnership discussions in the future.

We are looking for a 6 session GP and if our interests are your interests, we look forward to hearing from you.
