Job Title: Quality Technician / CMM Inspector
Location: Tamworth
Hours: Rotating mornings and afternoons

The Opportunity:
EMBS Engineering is seeking a skilled and motivated Quality Technician / CMM Inspector to join a well-established and innovative precision engineering company located in Tamworth. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the production of high-quality components and further develop your engineering expertise within a supportive environment.

What the role offers:

  • Shifts: Rotating mornings and afternoons (double days) with an early finish on a Friday

  • Initially starting on days for 3 months during training period

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating inspection reports

  • Review non-conformance of parts

  • Review inspection of parts from suppliers to ensure they conform

  • Perform Equipment TPM (Total Preventive Maintenance)

  • Update the quality system

  • Inspection of parts using manual standard gauging as well as CMM with PC DMIS software

    About You:
    As a Quality Technician / CMM Inspector, you will predominantly support the quality department with internal activities related to part inspection. You will prepare and record inspection reports and all related documentation in line with company requirements.     Essential Requirements:

  • Unrestricted right to work in the UK.

  • Willingness to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

  • Ability to commute to Tamworth, reside within a commutable distance or are considering relocation to this area.

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English to effectively perform the role.

    This position requires the successful candidate to undergo UK security clearance. To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the above essential requirements. Please note that due to the security clearance requirements, we are unable to sponsor visas for this position.

    Skills Required:

  • Quality Technician / CMM Inspector experience

  • Strong understanding of GD&T and metrology requirements

  • Strong experience in metrology with a precision engineering environment

  • Confidence reading technical drawings and interpreting geometric features/tolerances

  • CMM experience

  • Inspected small to medium-sized detailed components which have been supplied into; Motorsport, Automotive, Aerospace, Medical, Petrochemical, Defence etc

  • Knowledge of roundness and surface finish test equipment

  • Worked with various materials including; aluminium, steel, castings, cast iron

  • Ability to manually measure parts using conventional equipment - shadowgraphs, verniers, micrometres etc
