Project Manager – Water Industry | Up to £80,000 + Car Allowance + 33 Days Holiday

Location: Sites across the South East (Thames & Southern Water schemes)
Sector: Water / MEICA / SCADA / Electrical / Instrumentation
Salary: Up to £75,000 - £80,000 DOE + Car Allowance + 25 Days Holiday + BHs

We’re working with a well-respected specialist contractor that’s busier than ever – and with Southern and Thames Water workloads climbing fast as we move deeper into AMP8, they’re only getting busier.

They’re on the lookout for a sharp, hands-on Project Manager who knows how to take control of MEICA-led projects from start to finish. You'll be running a range of schemes (anything from £1K to £500K+) across the Water industry, covering electrical, instrumentation, controls, SCADA and telemetry (with a sprinkle of civils and mechanical thrown in).

This isn’t a sit-behind-a-desk kind of role. You’ll be visiting sites, working with subbies, managing clients, and keeping projects running smoothly from concept to commissioning. Expect autonomy, variety, and the chance to really make your mark.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Leading multiple MEICA projects from cradle to grave

*

Managing project scoping, surveys, design input, resource planning, budgeting, procurement, and client updates

*

Juggling competing priorities, shifting deadlines, and commercial targets

*

Working closely with internal teams and subcontractors

*

Ensuring Health & Safety and project compliance is watertight

What You’ll Need

*

Strong electrical background – ideally with controls / SCADA experience

*

Previous exposure to the UK Water industry (bonus if you’ve worked on AMP frameworks)

*

Solid communication, organisation, and leadership skills

*

The ability to get the job done with minimal fuss – someone who thrives under pressure

Perks

*

Salary up to £80,000 DOE

*

Car allowance

*

25 days holiday + bank holidays

*

Fast-growing workload = long-term security

*

Good people, good culture, no fluff

Veterans in Space: A Military‑to‑Civilian Pathway into UK Space‑Industry Careers

The 2024 UK Space Sector Report values the domestic industry at £17.5 billion, with the Government’s National Space Strategy committing £1.4 billion to launch sites, secure communications, and next‑generation navigation constellations. Defence intersects heavily: Skynet 6, Titania (space‑based quantum comms), and the UK Space Command’s responsive‑launch mandate all need skilled professionals. Military veterans bring mission focus, security clearance, and technical prowess—qualities the space sector craves. If you’ve maintained satellite uplinks on operations, guided aircraft via GPS under EW threat, or monitored ballistic trajectories, you already think in orbital mechanics and space situational awareness. This guide shows you how to leverage MoD transition programmes, translate military experience, and secure rewarding roles—from launch‑pad technician to satellite analyst—in Britain’s burgeoning space economy.
