Space Forge is a fast growing advanced materials company. Our goal is to exploit the extreme temperature, microgravity and ultra-high vacuum conditions available in low earth orbit (LEO) to manufacture materials that cannot readily be grown terrestrially. Returning these materials to earth, we aim to revolutionise the semiconductor market and to make space work for humanity. To achieve this we have developed a range of technologies including the world’s first returnable and reusable satellite platform, the ForgeStar®.

We are looking to hire a Programmes Manager to join our Programmes team and Semiconductor Business Unit. This part of the business focuses on the development of semiconductor manufacturing tools for space payloads, as well as terrestrial programmes for materials and tool development, and supply chain integration projects to provide routes to market for our materials

What will you do?

  • Take ownership of programmes and their projects across the semiconductor business unit, cooperating with other Programmes Managers within the space business unit  to handle cross-dependencies and deliver on the business objectives.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of the PM office and business processes at large.
  • Contribute to planning and development of contract bids and new internal scopes of work, and lead on implementation.

Requirements

Essential -

  • Experience in managing funded collaborative projects
  • Familiarity with a variety of Project / Work Management Software Tools including Microsoft Project, Jira, etc.
  • Familiarity with risk management processes - and the ability to anticipate and mitigate problems that others miss.
  • Demonstrable experience in providing leadership, direction and structure to teams in rapidly changing environments.
  • Self-starter - ability to independently work towards a goal. 
  • Provide clear and effective written and verbal communication at all business levels.

Desirable -

  • Experience in managing semiconductor and electronic supply chain projects
  • Project Management Qualifications e.g. PMP, Prince2, etc
  • Confidence presenting technical information to a wide variety of audiences
  • Commercial acumen
  • Experience with Space and Advanced Material Supply Chains and regulatory bodies.

  • Quick to get to the heart of a complex problem
  • Adaptable multitasking

Salary range: £36,000 - £57,000 per annum, depending on knowledge, experience and skills
