Main duties and responsibilities
Delivery; ensure that the ops for all customer orders are completed on time by:
Clearly understanding the daily cell by cell work to list (WTL) requirements.
Managing the resource levels ( re-deploy operators, use of overtime / shift patterns).
Completing enablement checks up front.
Allocate tasks / jobs packs to operators based on skill set / suitability [skills matrix].
Ensuring that all required equipment is fully operational (OEE, TPM, serviced etc.)
Initiate or provide guidance or training as needed.
Motivational / positive man management of team – leading by example to maintain and strengthen the excellent working culture.
Promote high levels of 5S levels of cleanliness and tidiness.
Implementing company policies and rules as required.
Escalating to the senior management team (SMT) where support is required to address any of the above (issues, risks, resource, capacity, recruitment etc.)
Quality; ensure that world class levels of quality (99%+ RFT) are achieved by:
Working closely with quality and production to address minor quality issues without delay or the need for MRB.
Ensure that ‘no fault forward’ (NFF) is effective and any issues addressed.
Attend the daily MRB meeting to carry out any required actions (specifically, actions to address a quality issue and/or raise awareness of the issue to prevent re-occurrence).
Identify and/or raise ‘engineering change requests’ (ECR) where improvements can be made to method of manufacture.
Take the lead on Continuous Improvement’ (CI) projects assigned to you.
Ad-hoc:
Health and Safety (H&S): ensure that all areas of the business are safe for all employees and visitors to the site. Take the lead on initiatives to further improve H&S best practice.
As up as needed in the absence of the general manager (when out of the office).
Attend relevant WTL / MRB / CI / SMT / project start up meetings as needed.
Support the training and recruitment requirements (new starters).
Security: act as factory key holder / alarm setter (Rota with the General Manager) and provide weekend business supervision when required.
