A leading manufacturer of precision components supplied to the aerospace, defence and high technology sectors has a new vacancy for a Production Manager. Joining at a time of company expansion and investment, you will be responsible for site production operations and ensuring the company delivers products and services to customer requirements. Candidates are sought with experience working in a precision engineering environment and a proven track record of strategic planning, managing operational processes and developing teams.

The Role

Direct and coordinate manufacturing operations to meet production schedules, cost targets, and quality standards.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement lean manufacturing practices.

Manage budgets, KPIs, and operational targets to meet delivery and quality goals.

Identify and implement technology solutions to improve operational efficiency.

Implement workflows to improve operational efficiency, reducing cost and increase throughput.
Develop, mentor and lead production team across multiple departments.

Establish clear expectations and conduct regular reviews/team meetings providing feedback to the operations team.

Develop and execute processes to meet company goals, focusing on quality, safety, and performance metrics.
Optimise planning and lead times while ensuring readiness to support demand.

The Candidate:

Proven experience in an Operational leadership position gained in a complex manufacturing/engineering environment.

Excellent leadership and influencing skills, able to motivate and coach teams.

Good understanding of budgeting and cost control principles.

Commercially astute, supporting the business in the achievement of its growth and financial targets.

Strong organisational and excellent communication skills

Ability to manage complex projects, troubleshoot problems, and meet tight deadlines.

Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
