Are you a skilled Mechanical Fitter looking for a 26-week contract ready to take your career to new heights? DK Recruitment is seeking talented individuals like you to join our client's dynamic team in Plymouth.
What You'll Be Doing:

  • Mechanical Expertise: Utilise your mechanical skills to remove, overhaul, and install a wide range of mechanical equipment, including hydraulics, weapons systems, water and fuel systems, and LP/HP air systems.
  • Precision Engineering: Work to the highest standards using engineering drawings and technical specifications. Install and align new equipment and conduct system and equipment functional tests and surveys.
  • Technical Proficiency: Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions. Operate general workshop machinery specific to mechanical fitting. Adhering to all safety regulations and promoting a safe working environment.

    Essential Experience:
    Marine Mechanical Equipment: Experience in the removal, installation, and overhaul of marine mechanical equipment, focusing on propulsion equipment, auxiliary systems, and power generation equipment.
    Desirable Experience: Previous work in marine engineering, especially on Royal Navy ships, submarines, Royal Fleet Auxiliary vessels, or large commercial ships.
    Qualifications (at least one required):
  • Indentured Apprenticeship
  • Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship in a Mechanical Discipline
  • Armed Forces PO/CPO/NCO with Mechanical Specialisation
  • Level 3 Mechanical Engineering Qualification
  • Must be able to obtain security clearance for this role and undertake a Basic DBS.
    Working Hours:
  • 35 hours per week
  • Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 15:30 Friday: 07:30 - 12:30
  • Potential for shifts and overtime
  • Pay from PAYE £19.45 p/h (Umbrella £24.16 p/h) + travel allowance (if applicable)
