Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.

The Role

The Lead Engineer will be responsible for supporting the Module Leader to ensure delivery of door trims components. This role is highly demanding as the role as the Lead Engineer needs to manage technical delivery and ensure design issues are resolved.

Responsible to ensure all technical delivery processes are robustly deployed into Project plans, design Issue tracking/resolution mechanism, Design resource efficiency, Project task forecasting.

Area of Responsibility

You will input/validate DFMEA/DVP

Adhere to agreed governance model & maintain and review design dashboard with customer

Produce weekly reports to customer: design progress, plan vs actual, roadblock/issues & resolution

Track change management

Work through technical issues that may arise as a part of component delivery (design, packaging, supplier DFM etc.

Plan, Define, inherit technical best practices, lessons learnt, design/engineering principles into design delivery

Provide benchmarking inputs into design/development of parts/system

Ensure early forecast of design issues and plan of actions to resolve

Provide technical guidance from concept to delivery phase of project

Help team with completion of DVP actions and ensure robust/timely resolution of issues

Knowledge / Experience

Proven technical experience of engineering component management

Experience of product design perhaps involving complex systems integration or the use of multiple technologies

Ability to lead the resolution of technical and process issues as they arise. Successful history from automotive domain an added advantage

Experienced in OEM or tier one component delivery

Knowledge of change control, product definition and change management processes

Mechanical or Automotive Engineering Degree

Proficient in CATIA
