HR & HSE Administrator

Location: Burntwood

Contract: Permanent

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR & HSE Administrator to provide administrative support across the Human Resources and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) functions within our manufacturing operation. This role will play a key part in ensuring compliance, efficient record-keeping, and effective communication across departments. The ideal candidate will have a recognised qualification in either HR or HSE and a strong commitment to best practice in both areas.

Role Responsibilities – HR & HSE Administrator

Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases.
Support recruitment processes including scheduling interviews, onboarding, and pre-employment checks.
Assist in training coordination and tracking completion records.
Support employee lifecycle processes including induction, probation reviews, and leaver administration.
Assist with the preparation of HR documents, reports, and communications.
Coordinate absence tracking and return-to-work documentation.
Provide first-line support for employee queries and escalate when necessary.
Health, Safety & Environment Support
Assist in the scheduling and documentation of risk assessments and safety audits.
Maintain records of safety training, PPE issuance, and safety incidents.
Support in the preparation of HSE reports, statistics, and compliance documentation.
Help organise toolbox talks, safety briefings, and internal HSE communications.
Follow up on audit actions and ensure timely closure with relevant departments.
Support site inspections and maintain HSE documentation systems.
An ideal candidate for the HR & HSE Administrator role would have:

Recognised qualification in either Human Resources (e.g., CIPD Level 3 or above) or Health & Safety (e.g., NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent).
Previous experience in an administrative role, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Desirable:

Experience working across both HR and HSE functions.
Familiarity with HRIS or HSE management systems.
Understanding of employment legislation or HSE compliance frameworks.
