Vectis Recruitment are exclusively partnering with a global leader in the manufacture of complex components supplied to the Aerospace & Defence sectors to recruit an experienced Global Logistics Manager. Joining at a time of significant international expansion, you will be responsible for implementing new global strategies related to the movement of materials and supplies into the company and finished products to customers. Applicants are sought with a proven track record of developing new metrics and introducing new logistics processes and methods.

The Role

Develop and manage logistics network design based on current and future company needs.

Manage international import strategy including tracking of duties/drawbacks, tariffs, etc.

Identify and select carriers, brokers, and external logistics partners.

Develop and evaluate metrics to assess logistics performance, identify opportunities, and implement enhancements.

Ensure supply chain compliance with international regulations.

Develop and refine strategies including initiatives to drive cost out, improve service performance, address capacity concerns and define responsibilities.

Manage and measure all suppliers, cost and processes associated with air, ocean, parcel, LTL, and trailer load freight, as well as logistics support services.

Manage and build strong relationships with carriers, site teams, and manage and leverage 3rd party transportation providers.

Identify new suppliers to evaluate / engage as potential future strategic partners.

The Person

Proven track record leading end-to-end logistics, supply chain experience.

Experience working for a global manufacturing group (aerospace preferred but not essential).

Ability to function effectively in a results-oriented, fast-paced growth environment.

Ability to effectively present information, data, recommendations to all levels.

Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain or related field required.

High attention to detail, analytical and strong critical thinking skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills Understanding of end-to-end supply chain activities and related value drivers.

A deep understanding of logistics principles, supply chain management and relevant technologies
