An established engineering firm with a legacy spanning over six decades is seeking a skilled Estimator to join their dynamic and professional team based in Scunthorpe.

This company delivers high-quality machining and fabrication solutions to a diverse range of industries. While they have a strong foundation in traditional heavy engineering sectors, they are also known for their innovative work in Aerospace, and Renewable Energy.

Operating from a well-equipped manufacturing facility, the business employs a dedicated team of highly trained craftsmen. Their commitment to excellence is supported by a proactive succession strategy, including the recruitment and development of apprentices across all core disciplines-ensuring long-term skill retention and consistent quality.

THE BENEFITS:
25 days holiday plus BH, yearly company bonus (dependant on business performance) company pension

THE ROLE:
Your job will be to liaise with clients and estimate jobs. Ordering of materials and issuing workshop instructions on contract award.

The ideal candidate will have the following skillset:-
Preferably from a fabrication background.
Experience in pressure vessel and or pipework manufacture
Experience in Structural Steelwork manufacture
Some knowledge of Welding Procedures and Materials
Good knowledge of fabrication and machining workshop practices.
The right candidate will be eager to learn, efficient and accurate and fit in well with the existing team.
It will be ideally a mixed role and for someone to also work as the Welding Co-ordinator (not full time)

THE CANDIDATE:
A minimum of 3 years of estimating or quantity surveying experience
Be competent in reading from engineers' and architects' drawings, and a background in fabrication would be advantageous.
