CNC Programmer Setter Operator – Milling
Brentwood Based

A well-established precision engineering firm based in Essex is looking for an experienced CNC Miller to join their growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting, and operating on a horizontal machining centre to produce complex parts for a range of sectors including aerospace, defence, oil/gas, and high-precision commercial work.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys a busy shopfloor environment with a strong emphasis on quality, and attention to detail.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Programming, setting, and operating CNC Horizontal Machining Centres

  • Conversational programming (Fanuc or Mazatrol desired).

  • Producing precision components in aluminium, stainless, titanium, and exotic materials

  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings

  • Maintaining tight tolerances for high-spec applications

  • Working to AS9100 / ISO9001 quality standards

    Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience programming and setting CNC milling machines – ideally horizontal

  • Conversational programming experience (Mazatrol preferred)

  • Familiarity with Fanuc, Heidenhain, or Siemens controls considered

  • Experience working within aerospace, defence, or similar quality-focused sectors

  • CAD-CAM programming is an advantage

  • A good eye for detail and ability to work under own initiative

    Hours & Benefits

  • Monday to Thursday or Friday (Day Shift) – 38-40 hours/week

  • Overtime available at x1.5

  • 24 days holiday + Bank Holidays

  • Holiday increase after 1 year

  • Pension scheme
