Core Hours:​08:00-16:35 (Mon – Thu) 08:00-15:10 (Fri)

Vacancy Type:​Permanent, full time and based on-site. Potential hybrid working but subject to operational needs.

Salary: ​£36,000-£38,000 DOE

You’ll help us protect lives by sourcing the components and materials that keep our projects moving.

We're looking for a Buyer who thrives on making things happen — someone who can manage low-volume, technically detailed procurement in a fast-moving environment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring parts and materials arrive on time, meet our quality standards, and support the delivery of defence and security products that protect people around the world.

Whether it’s fabricated components, electrical harnessing, or off-the-shelf items, you’ll work closely with colleagues across project management, production, and aftermarket to make sure everything is sourced to plan, on time and within budget.

What you’ll do

  • Build strong supplier relationships and negotiate on cost, delivery and quality

  • Place and track purchase orders, ensuring we stay on schedule and within budget

  • Liaise with project and production teams to ensure suppliers meet the demands of live projects

  • Maintain accurate records in our systems, keeping everything up to date

  • Work with colleagues in Quality and Engineering to resolve supplier issues

  • Drive improvements in supplier performance and cost

  • Help us stay compliant with terms, conditions, and regulatory requirements

    What you’ll bring

    Essential:

  • Experience as a Buyer or Procurement Officer in a manufacturing or engineering environment

  • Comfortable working with technical drawings and specifications

  • Able to manage supplier timelines and negotiate with confidence

  • Organised, methodical and focused on detail

  • Strong communicator who can work with people at all levels

    Nice to have:

  • Experience working with ITAR or other export-controlled goods

  • Experience using ERP systems (we use QAD)

  • Familiarity with sourcing bespoke components or defence-related items

    What we offer

  • £36,000 – £38,000 per year (depending on experience)

  • 25 days’ holiday + 8 bank holidays (with the option to buy more)

  • Half-year discretionary bonuses

  • Pension – 4% employer / 5% employee
