On behalf of my client, a leading Aerospace and Defence Electronics organisation based in Greater Manchester I am pleased to present the opportunity for a Buyer to work on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for co-ordinating and expediting the flow of materials to support production schedules. You will also be responsible for managing inventory levels, supporting materials/production level revision, interacting / co-coordinating with suppliers on a variety of topics and supporting other business functions as required.

This is a truly exciting role for a candidate who is highly adept at networking and has an ability to work under pressure and to challenging deadlines with high attention to detail. You will be a highly organised individual who is able to work across multiple complex projects simultaneously.

You will be responsible for:

Placing purchase orders with suppliers for the procurement of production materials as required to support the forecast and production schedule
Validating authenticity of MRP and order book and managing both
Keeping critical shortage sheets topical and accurate
Negotiating MOQ's and EOQ's to obtain best price
Managing obsolescence with the suppliers and highlight any liabilities
Expediting or deferring orders as required
Setting up and maintaining master system procurement parametersYou :

Relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
Educated to degree level
Experience with the principles of Transportation /Supply Chain and Procurement
Experience, usage and manipulation of MRP / ERP Manufacturing systems
Experience of demand planning
Experience in designing and executing sourcing strategies
Strong commercial understanding
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skillsThe package:
