Are you an experienced Operations, Production or Senior Business Unit Manager with a background in heavy manufacturing / engineering? We are currently recruiting for a Business Unit Manager to join an industry leading aerospace manufacturer in Hereford. This is a great opportunity for you to maximise individual and plant-wide productivity, quality and technical skills development on site and showcase your managerial skills when managing the day-to-day Safety, Quality, Throughput and Cost for all plant Business Units.

As Business Unit Manager you will:

  • Be accountable for driving the zero harm processes with actions supporting the achievement of risk reduction in line with target.

  • Drive zero defects processes in support of plant initiatives, ensuring processes are supported appropriately by Operations and improvement actions are in place, owned and completed on time.

  • Establish the ESH & Productivity targets for the business unit per quarter based on sales Budget, ESH and staffing model to set Headcount levels and productivity targets.

  • Lead, motivate and engage with Production Managers through effective communication e.g. team briefings, regular interaction on shopfloor, involvement of team in projects and initiatives.

  • Identify improvements for internal and external quality, cost and on-time delivery to the customer requirements

  • Drive the production team to use process Improvement and Lean Manufacturing Tools such as SPC, FMEAs, 6S and Lean Sigma structured problem-solving techniques to drive improvements.

  • Be accountable for ensuring Operation adherence to Preventative Maintenance Plan and will attend weekly Planned Maintenance review meeting
