Test and Measurement Technician

Location: South of Cambridge | Full-time | Permanent

The company

Our client is a well established technology consultancy SME based just south of Cambridge. They operate within defence, aerospace, medical and consumer electronics sectors.

The Role

We're looking for a Test & Measurement Technician to join our client's team of multi-disciplinary engineers. This is a hands-on role focused on testing RF and electronic systems to support product development and performance validation. 

Key Responsibilities

Carry out test procedures according to defined test plans.
Operate a range of RF test equipment, including:

Spectrum analysers
Power meters
Network analysers
Signal generators

Accurately record test results in a clear and structured format.
Contribute to the development and automation of test procedures using scripting tools.
Assist in circuit-level fault finding and debugging.
Collaborate with design and systems engineers to interpret test data and identify potential improvements.

Skills and Experience Required

Practical experience using RF test equipment such as spectrum analysers, network analysers, signal generators, and power meters.
Strong understanding of structured test methodologies and the ability to follow complex test plans.
Proficient in documentation, especially using Microsoft Excel and Word.
Basic electronics knowledge, including the ability to diagnose circuit-level issues.
Exposure to scripting or test automation using languages such as Python, MATLAB, or similar (desirable).
High attention to detail with a structured and analytical approach.
