Technical Sales Director – 5G / NTN / Wireless Systems

Southampton | Hybrid

There are not many companies in the UK genuinely operating at the sharp end of 5G PHY, satellite communications and next-generation wireless infrastructure.

This is one of them.

The business develops advanced 5G NR physical layer IP deployed within FPGA and ASIC platforms for terrestrial 5G, satellite communications, NTN and defence applications. Their technology is already gaining serious traction across the wireless and space sectors, supported by major funding rounds, strategic partnerships and a rapidly growing international customer base.

They are now looking to hire a Technical Sales Director to lead commercial engagement across Europe.

This is not a generic sales role.

You’ll be operating directly with:

  • CTOs
  • chief architects
  • satellite payload teams
  • semiconductor vendors
  • defence primes
  • wireless infrastructure companies

The position sits right at the intersection of:

  • wireless systems engineering
  • commercial strategy
  • FPGA / ASIC implementation
  • 5G PHY architecture
  • satellite & NTN communications

You will be responsible for helping customers translate complex technical requirements into commercially viable solutions, shaping proposals, supporting evaluations and ultimately helping win high-value IP licensing business across Europe.

The ideal background is likely to include:

  • 5G NR PHY expertise
  • semiconductor IP or wireless infrastructure
  • FPGA / ASIC implementation knowledge
  • technical pre-sales or applications engineering
  • customer-facing experience within telecoms, satellite or defence sectors

Exposure to NTN, O-RAN, satellite communications or wireless baseband systems would be highly beneficial.

This is a rare opportunity to join a highly respected engineering-led business operating in one of the fastest-moving areas of the global communications market.

Where to Advertise Space Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise space jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards, agency channels and community routes that reach satellite, propulsion and launch talent. The candidate pool spans satellite engineers, propulsion specialists, mission analysts, ground segment software developers, space systems architects and commercial space professionals — a highly specific multidisciplinary community that general job boards are poorly equipped to reach. The strongest space candidates are often embedded in ESA programmes, academic research groups, UK Space Agency-funded projects or established primes, and move between roles through sector-specific networks, industry bodies and conference communities rather than mainstream platforms. This guide, published by UKSpaceJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise space industry roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.
