Job Title: Modelling & Simulation Engineer
Location: Bedfordshire
Job Type: Permanent

We are excited to be supporting a growing aerospace and defence engineering organisation as they expand their Modelling & Simulation capability.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and validate models of aircraft, sensors, subsystems, and environmental interactions using MATLAB/Simulink

  • Define and verify requirements in collaboration with design engineers

  • Build simulation frameworks and integrate complex models for analysis and testing

  • Validate model outputs against test and flight data

  • Support system-level simulation activities including trade studies, optimisation, and performance assessment

  • Generate technical documentation such as validation reports, user manuals, and test plans

  • Contribute to MIL/SIL/HIL/PIL testing environments through auto-generated C/C++ code

  • Ensure model designs align with quality and safety standards

    Your Background

  • Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related discipline

  • Experience modelling multi-physics dynamical systems (mechanical, electrical, aerodynamic, hydraulic)

  • Strong understanding of control theory, estimation techniques, and flight dynamics

  • Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink

  • Knowledge of requirements management, verification, and validation

  • Comfortable preparing technical documentation

    Preferred Experience

  • MSc/PhD in a relevant discipline

  • Exposure to unmanned or autonomous aerial systems

  • Familiarity with Stateflow, Simscape, Modelica, Simulink Coder, MATLAB Coder

  • Knowledge of aerospace blocksets, control toolboxes, and multibody simulation

  • Awareness of industry standards such as DO-178C, DO-331, ED-215, ED-218

  • Experience with source control (e.g. Git) and simulation tools (SIMDIS, HLA, DIS)

  • Programming knowledge (C/C++, Python, or similar)

  • Background in military avionics, sensor systems, or high-integrity environments
