We’re supporting the growth of a specialist engineering team developing high-performance technology used in extreme operating environments. This is a newly created role, designed to strengthen materials capability within a multidisciplinary engineering team working on highly regulated, safety-critical products.

You’ll provide hands-on and theoretical expertise across materials used in demanding thermal, mechanical and corrosive conditions. This role requires someone who understands both the make-up of materials and the practical implications of manufacturing processes.

Mechanical Engineer
Key Responsibilities
  • Support material selection for high temperature and harsh environment applications
  • Advise engineers on material properties, performance and limitations
  • Assess the effects of manufacturing processes
  • Ensure material properties are maintained through production processes
  • Support design-for-manufacture activities and production readiness
  • Evaluate physical property testing methods and interpret results
  • Work alongside design and manufacturing engineers to preserve material strength
  • Support root cause investigations relating to material performance
  • Contribute to new product development and continuous improvement initiatives

Mechanical Engineer
Requirements:
  • Experience working with metals and/or ceramics in engineering applications
  • Understanding of materials in extreme thermal environments
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and their effect on material properties
  • Experience with physical property testing and validation
  • Ability to bridge materials science and practical engineering application
  • Strong communication skills with cross-functional engineering teams
