Job Description:

Opportunity for a Chief Engineer with significant Aerospace Design and Leadership experience to join an Aerospace / UAV design and manufacturing business, focussed on innovation and delivery. This role involves working with a high degree of autonomy on cutting-edge aerospace technology and solutions.

The main focus will be developing and delivering the engineering design and customer delivery strategy. Additionally, you will lead and mentor the design and manufacturing teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the mechanical design, avionic design, and manufacturing teams, deploying resources effectively and strategically.
  • Oversee research and development activities.
  • Manage the Engineering P&L and budgets.
  • Provide design authority sign-off.
  • Align rapid prototyping with scalable low-volume manufacturing processes.

Experience:

  • Over 10 years of experience in senior engineering roles within the aerospace or aeronautical industry.
  • Proven track record in product development from concept to manufacture and delivery.
  • Experience managing multiple complex engineering processes.
  • Degree in aerospace, aeronautical, or mechanical engineering, ideally at Master's level.
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace design practices, 2D CAD, 3D modeling, CFD, FEA, and avionic systems integration.

Note: You must hold a British passport or be a UK resident for over 5 years and qualify for Security Clearance.
