Job Description

What will you be doing? 

ALTEN UK is hiring an experiencedAvionics Systems Engineerto join a long-term programme within theEurofighter consortium, supporting activities related to the integration and interoperability of mission-critical avionics systems on military aircraft.

This role is ideal for a systems engineer with a background inaircraft sensor and subsystem developmentand a strong understanding ofavionics requirements management, especially related tocockpit integration and radar/IFF systems.

Project Overview:

You will be embedded within a multi-national defence engineering team contributing to the development and integration of key avionics systems for theEurofighter Typhoonprogramme. Due to the sensitive nature of the work, access toNATO Secret-level datawill be required.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Lead and supportrequirements managementactivities for avionics systems
  • Ensure seamlessinteroperability between aircraft subsystems and cockpit interfaces
  • Contribute tosystem-level designfor components like IFF, radar, sensors, and electronic countermeasures
  • Work on theleft side of the V-model(concept, design, specification)
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams across the Eurofighter programme


Qualifications

Experience, skills and qualifications required: 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as aSystems Engineerin defence or avionics
  • Strong knowledge ofaircraft system integration, particularly radar or sensor systems
  • Experience with requirements tools such as:IBM DOORS ,PCMS(Configuration Management)StateMate(bespoke version of Rhapsody),ICD Tool / PBA Profor interface control and data analysis
  • Strong understanding of military aircraft standards and systems engineering practices
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills

Required Education:

  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a relevant technical field
