Short description:As an Account Manager – Aerospace and Defense (f/m/d) you will be responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and building strategic relationships for Hexagon’s Design & Engineering solutions in their assigned sales territory. You will have a deep understanding of Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) software applications, strong technical acumen, and experience selling to engineering, aerospace, defense, that rely on simulation and analysis tools.

You will have a proven track record in enterprise software sales, experience in selling complex technical solutions to large manufacturers, and the ability to work closely with customers to demonstrate the value of CAE solutions in improving product development, efficiency, and innovation.

Job Responsibilities

Tasks in detail:

Sales Strategy And Execution

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy tailored to the CAE market, focusing on aerospace and defense industry.
  • Identify and prioritize target customers within the aerospace and defense industry, including OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and R&D-driven organizations.
  • Drive new business development within the aerospace and defense industry expand partnerships with engineering teams, R&D departments, and decision-makers.

Revenue Generation And Business Development

  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing high-value deals with enterprise clients.
  • Develop a consultative sales approach to demonstrate how CAE simulation, FEA, CFD, and Multiphysics software can optimize product design and engineering processes.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling within existing accounts.
  • Work closely with technical sales engineers to provide proof-of-concept projects.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • With technical teams, product managers, and marketing to deliver value-driven solutions to customers.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline, and forecasts using CRM tools.

Market And Competitive Analysis

  • Monitor CAE industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitors to refine sales strategies.
  • Provide feedback to the R&D and product management teams to align software offerings with market demands.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and technical symposiums (e.g., NAFEMS, ASME, SAE, AIAA).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business
  • 8+ years in enterprise software sales
  • Strong background in selling FEA, CFD, or multiphysics software solutions (e.g., Hexagon/MSC Software, ANSYS, Abaqus, COMSOL, Siemens Simcenter, Altair HyperWorks, Autodesk CFD) to the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Experience managing complex, technical sales cycles with enterprise customers and engineering teams.
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed sales quotas in the engineering software market within the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Strong understanding of CAE workflows, product lifecycle management (PLM), and digital twin technologies.
  • Solid network within the aerospace and defense industry (ideally).
  • Familiarity with CRM tools such as Salesforce as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to understand and communicate engineering simulation concepts effectively. Ability to build relationships with engineers, CTOs, and R&D leaders.
  • Adaptability in fast-changing technology landscapes.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% within the UK and Ireland
  • Fluent in English
