Job Summary
Provide Manufacturing Engineering capability to operational and development Programs to enable and deliver zero defect projects utilizing engineering and problem solving skills. Accountable for delivering robust, capable manufacturing process technology as it applies to materials, tooling, part fabrication and assembly.
Job Responsibilities
Responsible for accomplishing the requirements of this manual and shall assure that customer requirements are fulfilled by this procedure or provide for alternative procedures in the product planning documents for any program requiring such alternatives. To develop the WPS and evaluate the WPS qualification/substantiation results. To develop and responsible for the implementation of visual welding inspector written practice. Administer the training and certification system of welder or welding operator qualification including to determine the extent/range of qualified welding variables and evaluate their performance during qualification and operation To perform inspections or to verify that the work inspected and records maintained, conform to the requirements of the applicable aerospace standard. To certify the qualification of welders to applicable aerospace codes or standards. Have a good knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of welding process, welding metallurgy, symbols, drawings and interpretation, NDT and quality procedure. To verify the standard and compliance of inspection records and proper documentation - documented results, procedure qualification records (PQR), welding procedure (WPS) and NDT procedure. To witness the WPS qualification, verify and review its compliance with the code and contract requirements. To verify the compliance of production welding and inspection. Perform visual weld inspection and review the result/report of inspection To supervise and train welding inspector assistant or visual welding inspector
Job Qualifications
Working knowledge of quality system models such as ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000 Fluent in English language, both written and spoken. Diploma/Bachelor/Degree in Mechanical /Welding Engineering or related field. Preferable certified as Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Associate Welding Inspector (CAWI) in accordance with AWS QC1 or Welding Inspector Specialist /assistant in accordance with AWS B5.2. Candidate with certified CSWIP 3.1 might be considered. Satisfactory vision acuity as per AWS QC1 /AWS B5.1/ AWS B5.2 or ISO 18490 (Minimum able to read J2 and pass colour perception test/Ishihara) Minimum 3 years’ experience with GTAW and/or EBW welding processes on aerospace materials such as titanium, aluminium , stainless steel is desired Previous experience working with aerospace specification and standard such as AWS D17.1 /AWS QC1/ AWS B5.1/AWS B5.2 / AMS 2685 / AMS 2681 /AMS 2689 or equivalent is desired.
