Toolmaker – Full-Time

Location: Redditch, Worcestershire
Salary: £15.00 – £18.00 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Hours: 38 hours per week | 4.5-day working week
Contract Type: Permanent | On-site

️ The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Toolmaker to join our dynamic manufacturing team in Redditch. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in precision engineering to contribute to a forward-thinking and quality-driven business.

As a Toolmaker, you will play a critical role in the design, manufacture, maintenance, and modification of tooling used in production. You will operate a range of CNC and manual machines, and work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure tooling is manufactured to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacture, assemble, and maintain precision tools, jigs, and fixtures

Operate both CNC and manual machinery (milling, turning, grinding) to close tolerances

Diagnose tooling faults and carry out timely repairs or modifications

Read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD models

Conduct tooling inspections and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Collaborate with production and engineering teams to deliver effective tooling solutions

Comply with all health, safety, and quality standards

✅ Requirements

Essential:

Proven experience as a Toolmaker or within a similar precision engineering role

Skilled in both CNC and manual machining techniques

Ability to read and work from complex engineering drawings

Competency in using CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Mastercam)

High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work

Strong problem-solving skills with a methodical, proactive mindset

Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team

Relevant apprenticeship or qualification in Toolmaking, Mechanical Engineering, or similar

Desirable:

Experience in aerospace, automotive, or advanced manufacturing environments

Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement techniques
