My client, a manufacturing business based around Gloucester, are currently looking for a Technical Sales Engineer with substantial previous experience with composite materials, to join their growing team on a permanent basis. You will need solid technical knowledge in composite materials and production processes, (including infusion, RTM and prepreg processing). You will also have a good working knowledge of 3D CAD software (preferably Rhino) to interpret customer designs and develop kit designs and a passion to fulfil the needs of the customers with good service and providing them with the best products and solutions.
My client's UK office is based in Gloucester but they are looking for someone to work remotely and cover the client base in the North of the country. The role will involve regular UK and occasional overseas travel. Up to (Apply online only) travel days per year.
As a Technical Sales Engineer in the UK composite market, you will work with the sales team and be responsible for developing and maintaining the company’s offering in the Marine, Industrial, and Aerospace sectors. In direct contact with customers, you will support them in the design, implementation, and maintenance of kits used in various manufacturing processes. This is an exciting position where you will have an important role advising the Sales Managers regarding the evolution of the needs of existing and potential customers.
Other responsibilities are to:

  • Support and advise new customers on the use of the company's materials according to their needs.
  • Work with key accounts to ensure kit designs are fully up to date.
  • With the support of the global technical department, provide hands-on technical support and training to customers as necessary.
  • Work proactively with the Kit Departments in the design and development of core kits to meet customer requirements and to maintain the functionality of those kits throughout their sales life.
  • Participate in forums within the market sectors in the UK and Europe, (observation, analysis, and feedback).
  • Together with the Sales and Managing Director, establish the sales and business development strategy.

    You have excellent communication skills and ability to influence and engage others effectively at all levels. You are always customer focused and service minded ensuring customer satisfaction. You will provide them with the best products and solutions and support customers in developing new projects.
    You can work in a planned and structured manner and are able to improvise and quickly find solutions when necessary. You can work as part of the UK sales team and independently as necessary.
