Job Description:
The Post Design Service System Engineer will investigate Obsolescence issues and engineer solutions for replacement parts to ensure the system remains operational. You will design and commission solutions to Customer led system changes, maintain system drawings and documents as well as Ensuring the end-user’s interests are represented and providing the interface with Border Force (the end-user).

PDS Engineering
Implement PDS Solutions. Ensure Compliance to the Engineering Change Process. Manage future enhancements. Report on PDS activity to PDS Manager. Continual Improvement of Delivered Service.
Business Continuity
Support Implementation of the Business Continuity requirements. Investigate single points of expertise for knowledge transfer and capture. Manage critical documents and media items storage, during Implementation (Delivery and Installation) Phase and Operations Phase. Maintain effective processes and procedures are in place with the Service Desk, by providing a technical interface especially regarding service credits.
Technology Refresh (TR) and Obsolescence Management (OM)
Ensure TR and OM requirements are maintained. Support TR and OM Strategies to include, Continuous Improvement Planning, and Implementation of Innovation. Monitor and report on performance of PDS Activity. A dynamic engineer, capable of self time management and to engineer solutions to maintain the project. Implement approved Processes, controls and tools for PDS Support Technology Refresh Strategy including Technology Refresh, Continuous Improvement Planning, and Implementation of Innovation. Implement Short term technology change plans. Act as Interface between the end-user (Border Force) and the Programme. Work with Customer and Border Force stakeholders (during transition management and PDS). Delegated Authority Level May develop the methods, processes and controls in place to ensure successful delivery of Post Design Services (PDS) and operational support.
