Job Description

Job Title:Safety Engineer

Salary:Circa £60,000 (depending on experience)

Location:Stevenage or Bristol (Relocation package may be available)

Hybrid Working:3 days per week onsite

Your Role

As a Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that sophisticated, high-performance systems meet the highest safety standards.

You will:

Conduct hazard analysis and safety evaluations within a structured engineering process

Develop and deliver Safety Case Reports, including FTA, FMECA, and Functional Failure Analysis

Apply UK and international safety standards (experience in Def Stan 00-056 is ideal, but not essential)

Work with electronics, software, mechanical, and system engineers to create safe and effective designs

What We’re Looking For

️ Experience in safety engineering, systems engineering, or reliability engineering

️ Strong understanding of risk assessment, failure analysis, and hazard identification

️ Ability to work with cross-functional teams and communicate safety cases effectively

️ Experience from industries such as aerospace, automotive, rail, energy, medical devices, or similar

️ A degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant engineering field
