Order Management & Follow-up
Purchase Order (PO) Placement: Place and manage purchase orders with suppliers based on demand forecasts (e.g., from Material Requirements Planning - MRP) and internal purchase requests.
Order Book Management: Maintain and monitor the supplier order book, ensuring it reflects current needs and contractual agreements.
Delivery Tracking & Expediting: Proactively track the status of supplier deliveries, identify potential delays, and take immediate action to expedite critical parts to prevent production stoppages.
Delay Analysis & Escalation: Analyze reasons for delays, manage deviation processes, and escalate critical issues internally and externally to ensure timely resolution.
Daily Performance Monitoring: Monitor supplier delivery performance (On-Time Delivery - OTD) and quality (On-Quality) daily.
First-Level Problem Solving: Initiate and manage first-level corrective and preventive actions with suppliers for recurrent issues (e.g., using Practical Problem-Solving methodologies like 8D).
Missing Parts Management: Actively manage and prioritize missing parts, coordinating with suppliers and internal teams to ensure their rapid delivery.
Performance Review Participation: Attend performance review meetings with suppliers and internal stakeholders to discuss performance and agree on improvement actions.
Inventory & Stock Optimization
Buffer Management: Manage strategic buffers (safety stock) to maintain appropriate coverage levels and protect production plants from minor supply disruptions.
Inventory Monitoring: Monitor inventory levels and stock turns, identifying opportunities for optimization (e.g., reducing excess stock, managing non-movers/slow movers).
Ordering Characteristics: Understand and define optimal ordering characteristics and strategies (e.g., safety stock/time, batch size, reorder point).
Cross-Functional Communication & Coordination
Internal Stakeholder Interface: Act as the key contact for supply chain queries from internal customers, including:
Production/FAL: Providing real-time updates on delivery status and addressing production line needs.
Supply Chain Quality (SCQM): Collaborating on supplier quality issues and recovery plans.
Logistics Coordinators: Ensuring smooth inbound and internal material flow.
Engineering/Version Managers: Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and managing changes (e.g., retrofit plans).
Buyers/Commercial Procurement: Providing operational feedback on supplier performance and supporting strategic sourcing decisions.
Warehouse Operators: Resolving goods receipt disputes and managing inventory discrepancies.
Data Management & Reporting:
ERP System Usage: Proficiently use Client's ERP systems (primarily SAP, e.g., SAP PDA/PGI/PEA modules) for forecasting, order placement, tracking, and data maintenance.
Master Data Maintenance: Maintain relevant master data up to date within the ERP system (e.g., supplier lead times, ordering parameters).
Reporting & Data Analysis: Generate and analyze reports related to supplier performance, missing parts, inventory, and other supply chain KPIs. Consolidate Line of Balance (LoB) on request.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of Supply Chain Management and Logistics processes.
Proficiency in ERP systems, particularly SAP (MRP expertise is highly valued).
Good command of Microsoft Office / Google Workspace tools.
Understanding of problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, Practical Problem Solving).
Familiarity with digital tools and data analytics.

Your Security Clearance
To be successfully appointed to this role you will need to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks.
There are no nationality or residency restrictions, although if you have resided outside of the UK within the last 3 years, further checks may be required.
There are other criteria and checks required for BPSS, and throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked questions about your security clearance eligibility such as, but not limited to, country of residence and nationality.
