An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Strategy Analyst to conduct and lead strategic analysis to support strategy and business development projects.

The Civil Aerospace Services Strategy team is responsible for formulating and implementing the Rolls-Royce Services vision and strategy, which centres around the Services strategy and key strategic initiatives.We lead industry and market understanding and use strategic approaches to provide solutions to complex business problems.

This role undertakes industry, customer, competitor, partner and supplier research to provide appropriate analysis and insight, with the intention of being able to identify, evaluate and communicate potential business opportunities and threats. You will develop models and undertake analysis to explore new opportunities and in support of strategy. Ideally, you will be able to employ your knowledge of strategy tools to help solve complex business problems as you will either take the lead or provide support

Responsibilities:

In this role you engage in industry, customer, competitor, partner and/or supplier research to provide appropriate analysis and insight , as well as:

  • Develop models and undertake appropriate levels of analysis in support of strategy and exploring new opportunities.
  • Use strategy development tools to solve complex business problems.
  • Create and manage a library of data sources and analyses supporting strategic awareness, issue resolution and decision making.
  • Develop executive management quality presentations in support of company decision-making processes.
  • Lead or support specific strategic tasks and projects.
  • Proactively identify, evaluate and communicate potential business opportunities and threats.
  • Support development of formal recommendations to senior levels of company leadership.
  • Lead or support development of business development opportunities.
  • Monitor progress against strategic goals.

To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Understanding of core markets and potential new markets.
  • Good financial and business acumen, understanding of company financial statements.
  • Experience in utilising Microsoft tools including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Collaborative, cross functional teamwork with good communication skills and ability to influence
  • Ability to build financial models and communicate content
  • Knowledge of basic strategy tools would be beneficial (e.g. PESTEL and or Porter’s five forces)
