JOB OPPORTUNITY: Sheet Metal Guillotine Operative

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join the Boneham team, operating an Elga Hydrashear hydraulic sheet metal guillotine, supporting the Shim manufacturing cell.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have at least 2 years’ experience in setting and operating hydraulic guillotines

  • Ideally be familiar with working with stainless steel, brass, aluminium, and titanium; (thicknesses as low as 0.025mm (0.001”) up to 6.35mm (1/4”) thickness)

  • Interpret engineering drawings, with an ability to work to imperial and metric dimensions

  • Be experienced in using verniers, micrometres

  • Have the ability to cut intelligently to maximise the available sheet metal

  • Work to a production plan, whilst considering setting and planning efficiencies

  • Have a keen eye for detail and take great pride in their work

  • Demonstrate a can-do attitude

  • Desire to continually learn and progress through the organisation

  • Be open to adopting lean methods

  • Always consider health and safety risks

    Working hours are:

    Monday to Thursday 8am – 4:30pm, Friday 8am – 1pm

    25 Days holiday + Bank Holidays
