The Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team is embarking on an exciting new era, combining rich heritage with fresh energy. With over 700 passionate individuals, we’re determined to compete at the sharp end of the grid. As part of our growth, we’re seeking aSenior Surfacerto join ourAerodynamicsteam.


As a Senior Surfacer, you’ll play a crucial role in shaping our race cars’ aerodynamic performance. Your expertise in CATIA, particularly surfacing, will be instrumental in creating cutting-edge designs that enhance flow field dynamics.


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with Aerodynamicists, Design Engineers and Operational Teams for the delivery of development geometry to the organisation for CFD, WT and Track testing.
  • Construct complex CAD concept surfaces using CATIA.
  • Champion continuous improvement in aerodynamic design processes.
  • Coaching and mentoring others in surface design.


Skills and Attributes:

  • CATIA Expertise: Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6/3DX, with a focus on advanced surfacing techniques.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to surface modelling and design accuracy.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Problem-Solving: Creative problem-solving skills to optimize aerodynamic shapes.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to question conventions and embrace modern approaches.
  • Good knowledge of Formula 1 bodywork regulations.
  • Passion for Racing: Share our racer’s spirit and hunger for competition.


Additional Skills:

  • Understanding of aerodynamic principles would be beneficial but not necessarily essential


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in high-level motorsport or aerospace environments.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating CATIA surfacing skills.
