Are you passionate about supporting students with SEND and committed to fostering an inclusive school environment? We are seeking a dedicated SEND Deputy Head of Year to join our dynamic pastoral team and make a real difference in the lives of our most vulnerable students.

About the Role:

As SEND Deputy Head of Year, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring every student achieves their full potential. Working closely with the Head of Year and year team, you will lead on initiatives that promote inclusion, academic success, and emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting Vulnerable Students – Monitor social and academic progress, ensuring tailored support for those at risk of underachievement.

  • Developing an Inclusive Culture – Establish and oversee a satellite SEND hub within the year group to enhance inclusive classroom practices.

  • Parental & External Engagement – Maintain strong communication with parents and external agencies to provide holistic support for students.

  • Pastoral & Academic Support – Assist in managing year group rewards, sanctions, attendance, and form tutor support.

  • Values & School Ethos – Promote high expectations, positive routines, and a supportive learning environment for all students.

    Required experience:

  • Inclusion experience

  • Assessment and the monitoring of student progression

  • Track record of achieving outstanding progress with groups of cohorts
