Are you an experienced Quality Inspector looking to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, friendly, and flexible business alongside our Quality Manager? We are seeking a proactive and forward-thinking individual to drive continuous improvement within our Quality Department. The successful candidate will play a key role working with our Quality Manager in shaping and evolving our quality strategy, identifying opportunities for enhancement, and implementing best practices to ensure we maintain the highest standards across all areas of the business.

Our Client is a long-established business that specialises in the manufacture of low volume, high quality, tubular and threaded components for various sectors including Aerospace, Oil & Gas and Defense industries and due to impending retirement, we are actively hiring for an experienced Chief Inspector to join our engineering team.

Key Quality Inspector / CMM Inspector background needed:

MUST HAVE experience working within a precision engineering company and metal machining environment.
MUST HAVE experience with both visual and dimensional inspection (micrometers, bore gauges, callipers, height gauges etc.), and be used to working to extremely tight tolerances and critical deadlines.
MUST HAVE knowledge and experience of full inspection requirements, reports and CMM utilisation.
MUST HAVE ability to read and interpret technical drawings, understand and identify all engineering symbols and the requirements they demand.
Ability to measure accurately in both metric and imperial units is essential.
Excellent level of communication skills, diplomacy, literacy and numeracy is required
Maintain accurate manufacturing records, ensuring traceability and documentation of quality issues.
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Quality Inspector Responsibilities

Work with the team to create and maintain a Quality focused culture throughout the business.
Dimensionally and visually inspect products to detailed technical drawings and specifications.
Carry out first offs, last offs, patrol inspection, incoming material and final inspection checks.
Communicate with our customers to discuss any potential or actual quality issues discovered.
Quarantine, log and report all non-conforming products promptly.
Investigate and analyse and non-conforming product or any deviation to specification and raise Concession requests and when required, Non-conformance reports.
Raising First Article Inspection Reports (training can be provided)
Create, review and verify Certificates of Conformity.
Accurately complete manufacturing records, ensuring accuracy and full product and process traceability.
Previous experience and certification in inspection under an AS9100 or equivalent quality system is highly desirable.
Competence in using Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
A hands-on approach to teamwork and problem solving is essential as is a flexible, positive, and responsive approach to any duties.
Contribute in driving the quality section forward with a focus on innovation and improvement.

Package and Benefits:

Salary depending on experience. Guide £33-£40k per annum.
The position is full-time and permanent, and an immediate start is available.
The hours are Monday - Thursday 8.00am-5.00pm, Friday 8am - 2.30pm but we can discuss if needed.
Holidays are 28 days including Bank Holidays + extra bonus holiday over the Christmas Period to ensure a full shutdown from the 23rd of Dec to the 3rd of January.
