Job Title: Quality Inspector

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 4:00pm - Friday 7:30am to 1:00pm.

Salary/Benefits: £35k - £40K - Overtime paid at time and a half / Private medical care available / 21 days (+ bank hols) increasing to 22 after 1 year

Position Summary:

Actio Recruitment are seeking a skilled Quality Inspector

Our client manufacture parts and sub-assemblies complete to a wide range of customers in sectors including Aerospace, Defence, Oil & Gas, Motorsport (including Formula 1), Food/Scientific and Medical.

Due to a growing orderbook, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced hands-on Quality Inspector / Lead Quality Inspector to join our busy team on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading a small team in the Inspection Department; ensuring it is running efficiently and effectively to meet production requirements & customer delivery dates.

  • Carrying out dimensional and visual inspection for First off, Patrol and Final inspection of components.

  • Reporting any non-conformances in line with the Company NCR process.

  • Preparing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR’s) and other inspection reports as required.

  • Assist with Root cause analysis and problem-solving activities on the shop floor etc.

  • Other related activities as required.

    Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience of working within a subcontract CNC manufacturing environment.

  • Leadership: Ability to use initiative and organise themselves & the rest of their team with the ability to motivate others, achieving the desired results.

  • An excellent understanding of engineering drawings including Geometric tolerances.

  • CMM operating experience essential, programming experience an advantage.

  • Able to use other various types of measuring equipment including External & Bore Micrometers, Height Gauges, Vernier’s etc.

  • Process driven with high attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Must be a proactive team player, motivated towards continuous improvement.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to understand and work to EN9100 (AS9100) Rev D requirements.
