An opportunity has arisen for a Quality Engineer to join an established and growing global organisation that specialises in delivering customised vendor-managed services that integrate component sourcing, warehousing, kitting and global distribution. They support clients operating in complex and regulated industries including Aerospace & Defence, Medical, Rail and Industrial sectors.

What you’ll be doing as Quality Engineer:
You will drive compliance with customer, industry, and regulatory requirements, while fostering a culture of excellence throughout the organisation and supply chain.

You will focus on optimising processes, reducing defects, and enhancing customer satisfaction through proactive planning, effective supplier management, risk mitigation, and innovative solutions tailored to complex electronics and logistics environments.

Essential Functions:

Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using tools to enhance quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Conduct root cause analysis of issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Evaluate, develop, and monitor suppliers to ensure the quality of materials, components, and outsourced services.
Conduct supplier audits, assess performance, and work collaboratively to drive improvements.
Address supplier non-conformances and develop improvement plans.
Serve as the primary liaison with customers, addressing concerns, managing complaints, and ensuring customer-specific requirements are met.
Lead investigations of non-conformances and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
Develop, maintain, and improve documentation including procedures, work instructions, inspection plans, and control plans.
Monitor and report on metrics and KPIs (e.g. OTIF, defect rates) to senior management and customers.
Train and coach employees at all levels on standards, tools, and best practices.
Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
Provide support during the development, launch, and ongoing operation of bespoke kitting and logistics solutions, including leading and reviewing First Article Inspections (FAI).
Support risk management activities, such as control plan creation, and process validation.
What we’re looking for:
We are looking for an experience Quality Engineer who comes from a Contract Manufacturing Environment to lead, develop, and implement robust quality assurance and continuous improvement strategies.  You will have electronics (sub-contractor) experience and also some previous ‘shopfloor’ experience

Relevant qualification and experience in the same role or an assurance role within electronics, supply chain, or manufacturing industries.
In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 and other relevant standards and regulations.
Understanding of requirements and challenges within contract electronic manufacturing industry.
Desirable in-depth knowledge of AS9100 quality standard
Strong experience with quality tools and methodologies
Experience managing supplier quality and conducting audits
Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality management software/systems
This is an office-based role, working Monday-Friday, 08:30-17:00.
