Job Title: Quality Engineer – Foundry Experience Required
Location: Kidderminster
Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: £38,000 + Benefits

A leading manufacturer in the metal casting industry, specialising in high-quality components for automotive/aerospace/industrial/marine – customise as needed. With decades of foundry expertise and a commitment to continuous improvement, we deliver precision, performance, and reliability to clients worldwide.

We are seeking a Quality Engineer with hands-on foundry experience to join there team. This role is critical in ensuring the highest quality standards throughout our casting and machining processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and improve quality systems in a high-volume foundry environment.

  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for internal and customer quality issues.

  • Conduct regular process audits, dimensional inspections, and metallurgical testing as required.

  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure compliance with ISO/IATF standards.

  • Manage PPAP submissions, FMEA documentation, and control plans.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives such as Six Sigma, 5S, and lean manufacturing practices.

    Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Metallurgical, Industrial or related field).

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ quality engineering experience in a foundry or casting environment.

  • Strong understanding of metal casting processes (sand casting, investment casting, die casting, etc.).

  • Familiarity with inspection techniques, measurement tools (CMM, gauges), and quality software.

  • Experience with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or other relevant quality standards.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

    Desirable:

  • Certification in Six Sigma, ASQ CQE, or similar.

  • Knowledge of customer-specific requirements (e.g., automotive standards).

  • Experience with ERP and QMS systems
